Welcome and Overview of Brigg Spitfire Sprint 2026

We are pleased to host these Sprint Distance events, consisting of a Quadrathlon, Triathlon, Duathlon and 2’s Up Duathlon.
Each competitor is responsible for completing the full distance in every discipline as outlined. Please note that failure to meet the required distances will result in disqualification.

Distances

General Information

First Aid

First aid will be available at the Leisure Centre.
In case of an emergency, please call 07850 545790.
Save this number in your phone or write it on your race number.
When calling, clearly state your location and the nature of the emergency.
If you cannot get through, or if the situation is critical, dial 999 immediately.

Toilets

The Leisure Centre will be open from 06:30, with several toilet facilities available inside.
An additional Portaloo will be located at the front of Transition for convenience.

Cafe

Enter through the main entrance of the Leisure Centre.
Head left of reception and go through the set of doors.
You’ll find a small café offering hot and cold drinks, plus sandwiches and snacks

Changing Rooms/Showers

The main building offers several changing rooms and shower facilities for participants’ use.

Start List

The official start list will be published within three days of the event.
Please refrain from contacting us beforehand, as the final week is dedicated to essential preparations

Registration Area

Registration

Registration will be setup outside the transition area (seen in photo above).
We’ve kept registration open a little longer so latecomers can sneak in. The flip side? You might find yourself racking your bike while the race is already buzzing along! Stay sharp, smile, and always give way to the competitors flying past

Contents of Registration pack

Large Race Number x 2Display one number on your back for the cycle and one on your front for the run. Numbers are not permitted in the swim. One number contains your timing chip — ensure it is worn when crossing timing mats. Non‑competitors must avoid the mats to prevent false times.
Small Sticker x 2One to be placed on your bike the second on your helmet
Quad Only Small StickerThis is for your Paddle
Quad only Large NumberThis is for your Kayak
Swim CapNot provided. Athletes welcome to wear their own
Transition Wrist BandThis must be worn to gain access into and out of transition.

Documentation Required for Registration
Please refer to image below related to the event you have entered.
There is no documentation required for the Duathlon entry

Triathlon Race Day Pass Information

For Team Entries: Every member of the team must hold their own membership or must purchase a race pass.

A week before the event we will check that all entrants have got a race pass.

If you buy your pass the week running up the event then we will require you to bring proof of purchase

Transition and Race Brief

As this race is a wave start there will be no overall race briefing. Please ensure you read all the information on these pages any last‑minute changes or updates not included in these race information pages will be given to the athletes at registration .

It is the responsibility of each competitor to read the information contained within this page and the other event pages.
Event organisers reserve the right to conduct a quiz to ensure understanding.

We are required to complete checks for all competitors when entering transition on the bike and kit

Checking the bike is in a road worthy condition.

You will be asked to demonstrate that the bike has TWO working brakes

Both end stops are In the handlebars

Your bike helmet is in good condition, it fits and it fastens

That you are wearing your transition wristband

Rules of Transition

Rules extract

No public nudity

Your helmet must be on and fastened prior to taking your bike from the rack

Ensure your race number is visible to the rear

Exit transition and mount after the line

•On completing the ride section dismount before the line
.

Keep your helmet on and fastened until you have racked your bike

Failure to abide by these rules could lead to disqualification or a time penalty being issued

Event Place main places to know

Discipline Information

The course will be signed and marshalled however please ensure that you study the information and maps provided in the upcoming pages.

It is every competitor’s responsibility to ensure that they know and understand the course.

As we are running both  Standard distance and Sprint distance  events there will be three split points. It is every competitor’s responsibility to know where these are and complete the full route for their distance.

Cycle Route

This is the roundabout in Redbourne village.
Taking the third exit and heading back to Brigg

Kayak Route

At the first Red bridge the sprint distance will turn and head back.

Run Route

The sprint distance will turn at the first cone and marshal point

Award Categories

Team Awards
Quadrathlon and Triathlon team awards will be dependent on the number of entries.

When conducted under WQF rules, Quadrathlon results will not be determined by roll‑down
.
Triathlon results will be determined by roll‑down.

Duathlon awards may vary depending on level of entries.

2’s up awards will be dependent on level and type of entry
