Cycle Information
All athletes are required to adhere to the highway code at all times
Please take extreme care at the level crossing between Brigg and Hibaldstow
The route contains several junctions where the athlete will be joining a main road. Care should be taken at these and all intersections

For Images of the Cycle Route please see the button below
- Having mounted your bike proceed along the leisure centre internal road towards the main road.
- On reaching the junction there will be a filter lane set however it is the rider’s responsibility to give way to traffic from the right.
- After 400mtrs go straight across at the mini roundabout by taking the first exit onto the B1206 heading towards Scawby / Hibalstow. It is the riders responsibility to give way to traffic turning from the right.
- Continue along this road.
- You will cross over a rail line. Should the lights flash and the barrier come down then you MUST stop. A marshal will be positioned at the crossing who will record how long you had been stopped for. This time plus an allowance for slowing and accelerating will be deducted from you overall time. The stop time will be from the second you have come to a stop and have placed one foot on the ground. Any rider seen “jumping the light” will be disqualified.
- Continue along into Hibalstow village. Stay on this road taking care on the “S” bends.
- Continue on to Redbourne village.
- Having gone through the village you will come to another mini roundabout.
- Complete a 180 turn taking the third exit on the roundabout as this an out and back you will follow the route back to the leisure centre.
- When reaching the roundabout in Scawby Brook you must give way to traffic coming out of Brigg and turning right.
- As you get level with the leisure centre you must NOT turn right into it. Instead carry straight on over the bridge.
- On the bridge position yourself in the road in preparation to take the fourth exit (180 degress). You MUST indicate your intention to turn.
- Having made the turn head back over the bridge and turn left onto the internal road of the leisure centre. Cyclist will be just heading out so ensure you stay on the left of the road. Any rider seen crossing the white line may receive a time penalty or be disqualified.
- Dismount your bike before the line.
- Go into transition through the IN gate.
We don’t want to see this!

Drafting? Nope, not here. We run a zero‑tolerance policy — if a marshal spots you wheel‑hugging, you’re out. Simple as that. Remember: drafting isn’t clever, it’s just plain cheating.
Thank you
When you are back in from the bike after remembering to dismount before the dismount line please head back into the IN Gate in transition to mount your bike and go out on the run or into Kayak mode!
