Duathlon Results Update & Presentation night info
Please see the attached revised results for training race 10, apologies to Malcolm for the error.
No results for the final training race will be posted until after the presentation night.
So that’s it 11 training races, staged over 22 weeks (where has the year gone).
A total of 1602 times have been recorded (3 per event) with an average of 48 people per event. This breaks down to 357 for the ladies and 1,245 for the gents.
41 people have completed the series (7 races) with two completing all 11.
Between you, you have covered a total of 1606 running miles (Lands’ End to John O’Groats then turn round and run back) and 6556 pedal miles (which is three times the distance covered by the Tour de France).
For those of you who were not at the final Training race the Presentation night date is the 6th October starting at 8pm with presentation at 9pm and the Venue this year is Parky Arms on Mary street in Scunthorpe.
As well as the Presentation night we will also be opening up registration for next year. The committee have taken the decision to increase the cost of the season ticket to £15 (this still makes it £1.37 per training race) and £2.50 per race (£27.50 per year if doing all 11). To register, at the presentation night, you must be there in person.
The dates for 2018 are still to be confirmed (provisional first date 4th April) and due to the Flood defence work we may need to change venues for a while. We are currently working with the council and the environment agency to find out the schedule of work and how this may impact on us. As soon as we know we will let you all know.
On behalf of Jason, Debbie and Jeff we would like to take this opportunity to once again thank all those that have helped out during the year. To our time keepers, Vicky, Wayne, Kerry, Dawn and Sandra and to Mark York for all his work cutting the grass and trying to make the bank as good a place to run as he possibly can. We would also like to thank all those who have Marshalled for us throughout the year. Without all you Ladies and Gents we would not be able to stage these training races.
Finally we would like to thank Lincsquad for all their support in posting our results.
For those of you who cannot attend the presentation night we look forward to seeing you again next year, have a great winters training.
Kind regards,
Jeff Chappill
