On Wednesday 9th May Chris Spavin will be starting his coast to coast run in memory of his little boy Leo who the world lost to childhood cancer last September..
Chris, by his own admission will be running/jogging and at times even walking 190 miles from St Bees to Robin Hood Bay over the 6 days. He will be following Wainwrights path, mainly trails, and isn’t very flat with 29135ft(8880m) of climbing.
Challenge 2 will be in June when Chris is joined by a team of British Steel colleagues will be cycling coast to coast from Seascale to Whitby 150 miles all in the same day. Another tough challenge with some steep climbs thrown in and around 4500m in total climbing and one which many Lincsquadders have completed or also be taking part in this year too.

Candlelighters do a fantastic job supporting children and their families on and off hospital wards in many kinds of ways, Not only that they invest in vital research on causes and potential new treatments – that’s got to be worth it hasn’t it? ”
