Keyo Brigg Sprint Quadrathlon and Triathlon entries now open

LincsQuad will be hosting our flagship event the Keyo Brigg Sprint on the 1st October 2023.

As we did last year, we have incorporated a Quadrathlon into the Triathlon. The following information is to give athletes an overview of the event, with full race information being sent out within the week of the event. Further details about the event are below and on our event pages.

In the meantime, if you do have any questions or special requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us via email lincsquadevents@gmail.com.

The event

Race location is the Ancholme Leisure centre in the picturesque market town of Brigg. The venue has good motorway links and some very good hotels or guest houses for those travelling into the area.

Triathlon swim

400mtr pool swim. We restrict the number of swimmers per lane to ensure that you are not overcrowded. This is set by swim times, so you will be asked for your approximate 400mtr swim time when you enter. If you don’t know it, then make a good guess as these can be adjusted closer to the time.

Quadrathlon swim

750mtr river swim. This will be a straightforward out and back. As we found last year this may get changed to a 400mtr pool swim depending on the river temperature and condition, so please train and be prepared for both.

Cycle Both Triathlon and Quadrathlon

The 18K (11 mile) flat course takes you out through the villages of Scawby Brook, Hibaldstow and Redbourne before doing a 180 degree turn at the roundabout to head back to the leisure centre. It is worth noting that no riders are permitted to make a right turn into the leisure centre across traffic but must go 80mtrs past before doing a 180 degree turn at the roundabout then turning left into the leisure centre back to transition.

The route is all open roads and is flat.

Kayak

Quadrathlon only

Using the river, the 4k course is a straight out and back, which means for those of you who hate them, just one turn.

This may be subject to change.

Run Triathlon and Quadrathlon.

The 5K route takes you out of the leisure centre and towards the Town centre, where you will pick up the Tow path at the side of the river. Following this out for 2.5 kilometres you will turn and follow the same route back. This gives you an ideal opportunity to see where your closest rivals are.

Costs

This year LinsQuad have recognised the state of the financial situation right through the country, so we have put together a tiered entry price. This will range from a no frills to all bells and whistles. As such we have also decided that we will offer an early bird entry price. This will be withdrawn as we get closer to the event date.

So, as they said on the TV “Book early”. Visit our events page to learn more, click here.
