Chris Durham achieves Cat 1 status

Many of you will be aware Chris Durham a “graduate” of the Lincsquad Youth Academy has just gained his 1st Category Race Licence from British cycling at age 17. Halls well for Team Hall at Vitruvian

On Saturday 9th of September both myself and Neil took part in the Vitruvian half iron distance triathlon along with quite a few other lincsquadders. I raced as part of a team, whereas Neil braved the whole thing.

So for those of you who don’t know where vitruvian is raced, it is based in and around the beautiful Rutland waters. The swim is a 2 lap swim, followed by a 2 lap bike which circles around rutland waters through the local villages, then the run is 2 laps running on the pathway that surrounds the lake. It’s a very spectator friendly race, with plenty of opportunity to see the racers and cheer them on. Continue reading

TT Series Round 11 Butties at Billies

So another year of bi weekly gurning, effort, scanning results and posing comes to an end!

This years TT Series has again been pushing riders to more and more PB’s and with added support in the form of more marshals than ever there was no hiding place in the Race of Truth.

Big thank you to our main team of Kerry, Ann, Rob and Cathy as well as the Jess and Dave who stepped up when needed (who can forget Dave not being able to catch Jacob off the line to shadow him during his ride 🙂 Apologies if I’ve missed anyone off which always happens when you start naming names…… sorry sorry sorry.

We have had tremendous support to assist with marshalling and for that the club thanks all of you.

A big thank you to Pete and Vida at The King Billy who have looked after us all year. Many of you who have tried other TT’s will now know that we are very unique in that we get to have a race hq so close to the course.

The Series will return next year and be in a very similar format with respect to dates, courses and gurning. I’ve been discussing a few changes to make it easier on the admin team relating to how we score events. rest assured the faster riders will always be the fastest!

More of that soon but for now…enjoy your off season.

Full Series results will be posted soon!

TT Series round 10 Greetwell – Apparently there are lots of f’s in “Kirton Hill”

Round 10 is a another of the TT Series stand alone rounds in that it counts as a qualifying round of your 6 from 11 however the time isn’t included in your average time for the year due to the longer course.

SRC10/2 is a Scunthorpe road club 10 mile course that we’ve previously included as a handicap race at the end of the year and as a change from the usual course to see if the hills (up and down versions) throw up any surprises. 🙂 Spoiler alert – fast riders who train hard are still fast!  Continue reading
